Rutherglen Community Carers is an organisation which supports older people living with dementia or mental ill health/disabling conditions and their carers. 

Our Mission Statement: 

·         to be recognised as the most efficient and effective provider of home-based respite care within our community

·         to enhance and extend our service to the various groups of service recipients referred to us from other agencies

·         to ensure and maintain that our services are delivered with dignity, respect, and compassion for the benefit of all our service recipients and their families

·         to ensure that our staff are trained to the highest possible standards and are rewarded appropriately

The respite service is a highly valued component of community care services for individuals with a diagnosis of dementia, mental illness/disabling conditions and their carers.

Aims and Objectives:

The organisation is designed primarily to offer home-based respite to the carers of people with dementia or mental illness.

Social support is so important in helping people live well with these conditions. Our aims and objectives are to:

·         improve mood and reduce anxiety

·         reduce social isolation

·         maintain self-esteem and confidence
